Hosted by Dance Educators Collective, the Choreographer’s Cup is a curated competition and showcase created to spotlight bold, innovative voices in the dance industry. This opportunity is designed for choreographers ready to share their work on a national stage, connect with fellow artists, and present choreography that reflects their unique artistic vision. Selected finalists will travel to DEC in Nashville to showcase their work live.
 

Submissions open March 1, 2026.

2026 Choreographer’s Cup Requirements

All About Us

1. Submission Form
To be considered, all choreographers must:

  • Complete the online application form

  • Share a video link or upload a sample of representative work

  • Submit the non-refundable application fee of $100

 Note: The submitted work does not need to be the same piece performed if selected.

2. Performance Guidelines
Piece Selection:  Choose choreography that best represents your artistic voice. You are not required to perform the same piece you submit with your application.
Dancer Count

  • Minimum: 7 dancers

  • Maximum: 25 dancers

Performance Length

  • 5 minutes or less

Age Requirement

  • All dancers must be 15 years or older

Choreographer Participation

  • Yes, the choreographer may perform in the piece

Genre

  • All dance styles and genres are welcome
     

3. Important Dates

  • Applications Open: March 1, 2026

  • Submission Deadline: April 1, 2026

  • Finalists Announced: May 2026
